How work on a case is organised — without the marketing

The answers are checked against the current version of the platform. Every capability has a label: available — you can check it on a pilot today, in development — we are building it but do not promise it yet.

Working with a case

What materials can be uploaded, and how many?

PDF, scans and photos (PNG, JPG, TIFF, BMP, GIF, WEBP), DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, ODT, ODS, ODP documents, as well as TXT, MD, CSV, RTF. ZIP and TAR archives are unpacked automatically — up to 2000 files and 2 GB per archive. available

For cases of dozens or hundreds of volumes it is easier to connect a Google Drive or Dropbox folder: subfolders “Volume 1”, “Volume 2” become volumes of the case, and new files are picked up by synchronisation. available

Old .doc/.xls/.ppt, HEIC and RAR are not accepted — re-save them as DOCX or PDF.

How does the system read scans, and what if recognition is poor?

Every page is recognised by two independent engines. If their texts match, the page is accepted. If they differ, a model resolves the dispute from the page image. If it is not sure either, the page goes to the “OCR review” queue: a lawyer sees the scan and the text side by side, corrects it, and the facts from that page are extracted again. available

The “Coverage” block on the case card shows in figures how many pages have been processed, how many await manual review and how many statements have no supporting quote. While unchecked pages remain, the system says so: answers based on them may be incomplete.

What do I get when I ask a question about a case?

An answer based on the case materials, with a quote label on every statement. Clicking it opens the fragment itself: volume, page, text. The page number and the quote text are inserted by the software from the list of fragments the model actually received — the model cannot name a page that does not exist. available

Before running you see an estimate: how much this question will cost. available

What are debates, and when should I run them instead of a plain question?

When the conclusion matters: a position on an episode, the assessment of evidence, weaknesses of the prosecution. In debates the analyst argues the position, the sceptic (and, in three-sided mode, the opponent too) looks for weak points, and the judge gives a verdict on each statement: “upheld”, “corrected”, “disputed”, “rejected”. The judge is always a different model, not the author of the answer. available

Debates take a few minutes. The participants' replies appear on screen as they are ready; you can see which step the work is at and how long it has been running. All statements of the case with their statuses are collected in the “Risk map”. available

What are “case versions”, and how do they help the defence?

The system builds 3 to 7 competing explanations of events: from the standpoint of the prosecution, the defence, a neutral investigator and a mandatory “alternative” one that contradicts the most obvious. For each version you see which fragments of the materials support it and which contradict it, and most importantly — which document to request to tell the versions apart. available

Versions are compared blind (without naming the model or the standpoint), and a rating is calculated from the lawyer's choices. Versions are never mixed with the facts of the case: they are analysis, not established circumstances.

Can a case be analysed “as if there were no verdict yet”?

Yes — the “case as of a date” mode. The lawyer sets document dates and marks the final decision; during analysis the model sees only the materials known on the chosen date and does not see the decision. Otherwise it retells the verdict instead of analysing independently — this matters for appeals and for preparing a position. available

How are procedural deadlines calculated?

The model only spots a deadline in the text and proposes it — with a quote showing where it comes from. The date is calculated by the software from data confirmed by a person: the starting date and the number of days. Until a lawyer clicks “Confirm deadline”, the proposal means nothing and triggers no reminders. available

Reminders about confirmed deadlines arrive in Telegram 7, 3 and 1 day before and on the day itself. available

Does the system prepare procedural documents?

It prepares drafts: motions, complaints, requests — with the firm's letterhead, details, logo and signatory from the organisation profile. If a profile field is empty, the document shows a visible placeholder, not an invented value. available

If the model is not sure about the details of a legal provision (type of act, number, article), it writes “[CHECK THE PROVISION: essence of the requirement]” instead of a number. Export to DOCX and PDF; until the document is approved, every page carries a “DRAFT” watermark. available

Only a person files a document. Lawyers, partners or administrators approve drafts, and every approval is recorded in the log. There is no automatic filing or sending — and there will not be.

Does the system check which version of a provision was in force?

Yes: a reference to an article shows the version in force on the date of the event, with a warning if the provision has changed since. Currently — Ukraine, the United Kingdom and EU law. available Other jurisdictions — in development

Is there search across all case materials?

A natural-language question to the case already works and finds the relevant fragments by meaning. A separate full-text search across all materials with filters by volume and date — in development

Accuracy and errors

Can the AI invent a reference to a case page?

No — the reference is inserted by the software, not the model (see above). But a quote can be genuine and still not support the conclusion. That is why there is a second check — quote verification: a separate model answers whether the fragment supports the statement, contradicts it or is about something else. Doubtful places are marked “needs review”, and the lawyer looks at them first. Verification is on by default. available

And if the judge in the debates makes a mistake?

The judge is tested. Statements with a known answer (“traps”) are quietly mixed into the debate. If the judge “confirms” something known to be false, it shows in the debate results. For some questions there are no suitable traps, and then the system honestly says “judge control unavailable” rather than “all is well”. available

What happens if one of the models does not respond?

The system does not silently replace it. The debates are marked “incomplete panel” with a list of the roles that did not work; such a verdict carries less weight, and that is visible. The same applies to recognition and external sources: a failure is always visible in the answer and in the interface. available

Why do you use these particular models, and who decides?

The data of your practice decides. In the Laboratory the firm's lawyers label model answers on their own cases (the first week — about an hour a day); the system calculates the accuracy of each model in each role with an honest statistical interval and shows how much labelling remains before a reliable conclusion. A model goes into production only by a partner's decision. available

Confidentiality

Where exactly do the case materials go?

Materials as a whole go nowhere except your storage. Only the fragments needed to answer a specific question are sent to the model provider. For each case a partner or administrator chooses the external AI policy:

  • “no resellers” (default) — only official provider APIs and major aggregators;
  • “all providers”;
  • “local only” — fragments do not leave your server.

Processing regions can also be restricted. A call that violates the case policy is rejected with an explanation. available

Connecting local models on your server, so that “local only” mode covers all roles — in development; for now, roles that are unavailable in this mode refuse openly.

Where is data stored, and who can see it?

On the firm's own server — only there. In our cloud every organisation is isolated: another firm sees neither your cases nor their names. Within the firm — by role: partners and administrators see all cases, lawyers and assistants see their own, a client sees only their own case. available

Significant actions — approving a document, confirming a deadline, an export — are recorded in the log: who and when. available

What about sessions and a lost phone?

A session ends after 36 hours without human activity (background tab updates do not count). If a device is lost, the administrator disables the user — access disappears at once on all devices. available

A “sign out on all devices” button for the user themselves — in development

What goes through Telegram?

Our bot does not transmit case names, surnames or deadline details — only “there is an update on a case” or “a deadline is approaching” and a button that opens the case on your firm's server. available A group chat for a case, where the team asks the bot questions, is a separate feature that the firm enables itself.

Team and channels

How do I bring in colleagues and a client?

The administrator invites by email and role; a lawyer can invite a colleague straight into a specific case. The person receives a one-time link valid for 72 hours and sets their own password — no passwords need to be passed on. available

Roles: administrator, partner, lawyer, assistant (uploads and views but does not approve), client (sees only their own case). Bulk invitations from a list and sign-in with Google/Microsoft — in development

Can I work from a phone?

The web workspace works in a phone browser. Through the Telegram bot you can ask questions about a case, send documents and voice messages (they are transcribed) and receive deadline reminders. available

A mobile app that pairs with the firm's server by QR code and works offline is ready and in review; publication in the App Store and Google Play — in development

How do I get help if something does not work?

On every screen of the workspace there is a “Report a problem” button: the page, role, server version and the number of the last error are attached automatically, and you can add a screenshot. The same is available in the Telegram bot with the /support command. The reply arrives in the workspace and in Telegram. Every screen has help — the “?” icon. available

Costs

What does the price consist of?

A subscription — seats and storage (see pricing) — plus model costs, which are counted separately, per call. Hosting — our cloud or the firm's server; the capabilities are the same.

How model costs are paid — with your provider keys or through us — is set by the contract.

How do I avoid an unexpected bill?
  • An estimate before running a question or debates.
  • Spending limits for the organisation, an employee and a case — per week, per month or without a period. When a limit is reached, new model requests stop with a clear message, and the work already done is kept. The administrator raises limits (a case limit — also a partner).
  • Per-case breakdown: every call — time, role, model, volume, cost; CSV export for billing the client.

available

How much does analysing one case cost?

It depends on the volume and on how many debates you run. The exact figure for your case comes from the estimate before running, and the total from the cost breakdown. On the pilot we show the real costs on your cases, not an averaged figure from a presentation.

Deployment

Our cloud or your server — what is the difference?

The capabilities are the same. In the cloud everything is ready in minutes: the organisation, invitations, a demo case. Your own server — when materials must not leave the firm's perimeter: installation on Ubuntu with a single command and an answers file (firm, domain, administrator email, keys); at the end the administrator receives an invitation. available A macOS installer with a control window — in development

If you have no domain of your own, we provide an address like firm.cassation.app.

The server is behind a router without a public IP — is that a problem?

For now the server needs an address reachable from the internet (or a domain name), or it works only inside the office network. Access without a public IP and without router configuration — through a relay — in development

Backups and updates?

In the cloud, backups of the database and materials are made automatically. On the firm's server a backup script is part of the installation; we see the state of your server (version, freshness of the backup, health) without access to cases. available

The procedure and timing of updates — by agreement.

Can we take our data and close the project?

Yes. In “Administration → Data and project” the administrator exports all of the organisation's data as an archive with one button: every record of every case and the original files of the materials. available

The project can be closed there too: access ends at once for all users of the organisation, and their accounts are disabled. Export to other formats and transfer to other systems — by agreement.

Pilot

How does the 14-day pilot work?
  • You leave a request — we create the organisation, and the administrator receives an invitation.
  • First sign-in: a three-step wizard and a demo case with ready debates and versions — you can explore it at no cost.
  • You upload your own case and invite colleagues. The terms for model costs during the pilot are agreed in advance.
  • 5 days before the end of the pilot, a warning appears on every page of the workspace: how many days are left and what happens next.
  • After 14 days the analysis functions are switched off. For 2 more days cases, materials and ready answers remain available — so you can export what you need.
  • After that the organisation's data is deleted from the server with no possibility of recovery. To continue without a break, contact us before the pilot ends.

available

What should I check first on the pilot?
  • Take a case you know by heart and ask questions whose answers you know: check the references to case pages.
  • Run debates on a disputed episode and see what the sceptic found that you did not.
  • Build versions in “case as of a date” mode for a case that has already been decided, and compare them with how it ended.
  • Look at the cost breakdown — that is the real cost at your volume.
